Breast cancer awareness month,
we as AMMC could organize an event that would blow any physian away.
But breast cancer and awareness, is a topic for all!

So we created an event that is acessable and understandable for all.
A time for you

has a short speech and then goes very practical:
-learning how to do a breast self check.
-possibility for a virtual mammogram
-just take a look around in the woman health centre
-make an appointement to come back later

But also to find a place to relax,
go to a spa, go dance, or find out more about breast cancer.
But this event is designed to be an event to make time for you
and hope you make time for your breasts

Holidays are almost over, Academic years all over
the world are about to start.
AMMC did not have an academic break, in the summer
a psychology departement has been created (Thanks Nix)
a cardiology departement is in the planning phase,
preparations for a conference have been finalised.

Last not but least, one of the interns, is intern no
more, he is now RL, Dr Flanagan proficiat!!!

Coming events are:
-a conference about death and dying
-monthly intern meetings start again, the first one is
a patient presentation titled: Chief Concern (CC):
Possible hemorrhagic fever
differentials: Malaria+Gastro enteritis (Typhoid Fever)
-one exersize (at least)

Nix has made and setup a radiology terminal for the AMMC in the Radiology room behind the screen. This terminal holds web sites for radiology images and training. One site is an instruction on MRIs. When you touch the terminal, a blue drop down box appears letting you choose what site you want to visit, AMMC, MRI, CT images, XRs, etc. After you decide which site to view, you’ll be given a notecard. If an instructor wants students to view a particular image on a site, the notecard will give information to you. One note on the CT Teaching files, it’s better to open the site in your browser (the option is given on the internal sl browser at the bottom left).  Thanks to Nix for building this powerful tool!

Dr. Yoghas Echegaray presented a talk with power point slides on the American Heart Association’s updated recommendations for treatment of ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Many students and staff were present for this important intern meeting and we are hoping that Dr. Echegaray will cover some subtopics in future. It was very detailed and informative!

The Second Life Psychologist Conference will be held May 26, 2008 at 12:00PM Second Life time as well as 6:00PM Second Life time.

Speakers:
-Dr. Mark J. Bryant
          Dr. Bryant will be speaking on the patterns of the human mind, stress comps, and poses.

-Dr. Sarah D. Lane
          Dr. Lane will be speaking on the subject of relationships, self help, and sleep patterns.

-Dr. Timothy W. Duncan
          Dr. Duncan will be speaking on general psyc issues, clinical procedures, AV therapy, anxiety and depression.

*Each speaker is expected to speak at least 30min, in which time questions, comments and discussions may take place.

*Each Doctor has been hand selected by myself to speak at the Conference. They come VERY Highly Respected in their fields, and I believe we are all in for a treat!

–THIS CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD IN SL AS WELL AS RL. REAL LIFE VIDEO FEEDS WILL BE OPEN FOR USE. A TAPED SESSION WILL BE OPEN TO ANYONE WHO CANNOT ATTEND.
